This powerful strategy called 'Active Practice' will help you symbolically and actively DO something physical to renew our mind and replace the negative disempowering thoughts with positive ones.

As you go about your day, every time you experience the negative thought related to your health, your body, or your weight, you will perform this 3-step exercise.

1. Notice the fear, limiting belief, or toxic thought

    • I've failed so many times in the past, why will I be successful this time?
    • I can't do this.
    • What if I put the weight back on?
    • What if I fail?
    • I look so fat.
    • What if it takes too much time to prepare everything?
    • How will I cope without sugar?
    • What if I get overwhelmed?

2. Recite a Prayer and Declaration

    • "I am doing the best that I can."
    • "I’m striving for progress, not perfection."
    • "Perfection focuses on me, not God."
    • "God is in control."
    • "Everything is as it should be."
    • "There is nothing to worry about."
    • "What’s important is what God thinks of me."
    • "My assignment is to please God, not man."
    • "I am loved lavishly by God."
    • "I deserve to take care of myself."
    • "I choose to live in the solution and not the problem."
    • "I am responsible for my life."
    • "I can take action without knowing all the facts."
    • "I am loved just the way I am."
    • "I don’t need to know."
    • "I am loved and admired by God."
    • "I have nothing to prove."
    • "I am made in the image of God."
    • "God will fight for me."
    • "I am not my past."

Prayers

"Thank you, God, that you are healing/helping/strengthening/working on me according to Your perfect schedule."

    • I am confident that God will perfect the work He has begun in me (Phil. 1:6).

    • I don’t have to always have my own agenda (Eph. 5:21).
    • I am chosen and dearly loved by God (1 Thes. 1:4).
    • I am created in the image of God (2 Cor. 4:4).
    • I am not helpless (Phil. 4:13).
    • I am blessed in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing (Eph. 1:3).
    • I am forgiven (Eph. 1:8Col. 1:14).
    • I have a purpose (Eph. 1:9 & 3:11).
    • I can be kind and compassionate to others (Eph. 4:32).
    • I am set free (Rom 8:2John 8:32).
    • My heart and mind are protected by God’s peace (Phil. 4:7).
    • Possess the mind of Christ (I Cor. 2:16).

3. Perform an Active Practice by ...

    • taking a step forward to show that you are walking out of your past.
    • putting your hands over your heart to show how much you are loved by God.
    • stomping on the toxic thought to remove it from your life.
    • exalting the name of the Lord.
    • smiling and visualizing that God is pleased with you.
    • lifting your hands to the sky in surrender.
    • clapping your hands in victory.
    • singing a verse of a related song.
    • drawing or sketching something.
    • visualizing Jesus sitting beside you.
